Mission Statement

T-REX’s mission is to enable liquidity across the financial markets.

We are addressing challenges and creating opportunities across the most complex asset classes, with a primary focus on structured and project finance.  Our goal is to bridge the gap between the asset originators and the end investors with managed data services and software that eliminate manual processes, automate workflow and drive workflow efficiencies.

Our History

Amidst the 2008 financial crisis, Benjamin Cohen saw tremendous opportunity in building financial infrastructure for traditionally riskier esoteric markets.

Fixed income professionals had historically lacked the tools necessary to adequately assess risks in complex markets, hampering large-scale investments in high-value sectors. Furthermore, there was no easy, secure way to communicate and collaborate on a deal with colleagues and counterparties. Finally, the manual, spreadsheet-based workflow significantly impacted time-to-market.

The need was clear: Create a more robust financial infrastructure for riskier esoteric markets to facilitate new investment into those assets.

So that's what we did...

Leveraging a deep background in structured finance and esoterics, Benjamin founded T-REX in 2012 to drive financial sustainability and liquidity across these key markets. Designed by market practitioners and technology experts, T-REX brings users greater transparency into esoteric asset classes, leading to multiple benefits:

Risk Mitigation

T-REX supplants manually-generated financial models with a sophisticated SaaS platform built for esoteric markets. By automating workflow, standardizing inputs and formulas, and improving communication across counterparties, users collaborate on deals more effectively – with greater precision and security.

Improved Performance

Due to the opaque, fragmented nature of esoteric asset class workflow, liquidity is limited, and money is often left on the table. T-REX’s transparent, ready-to-use data and flexible analytical tools empower users across the investment lifecycle to improve performance – from lowering capital costs to handling greater volume to entering new markets with confidence.

Workflow Efficiencies

T-REX bridges the workflow gap between the sell side and the buy side. With a standardized user interface and transparent data definitions, calculations, and analytics, T-REX takes the guesswork out of the current esoteric asset class workflow while dramatically improving efficiency and collaboration across every stage of the investment lifecycle.

Today, T-REX is accelerating the growth of renewable energy and other esoteric markets by equipping financial professionals with innovative analytic, collaboration, and data tools. Utilized in transactions across major investment banks, rating agencies, accounting firms, institutional investors, and issuers, T-REX improves transparency and efficiency at every stage of the investment lifecycle and has been used to structure over $7 billion in total assets since 2016.
